VIRTUAL LONDON 0203, 0207 AND 0208 NUMBERS TO LANDLINE
Welcome to The Virtual Number Company's London phone number page! Virtual London phone numbers are by far the most popular of our 479 different local phone numbers – not surprising seeing as around 1/8th of the population live in London and it is the capital city of the UK! This page is for virtual London numbers that are pointed to a landline. If you are wanting to point an 020 London number to a mobile, then please click on the banner below.

All London numbers start with the area code 020, however, these are often categorised further as 0207 numbers, 0208 numbers and 0203 numbers. A range of each is currently listed further down the page. When you see a number you like, just click "buy" next to it, and if it is a regular weekday before 5pm (excluding Bank Holidays) we will have your London number set up for you in minutes.

Virtual London numbers allow you to appear to be London based, even when you are not. They are pointed to your existing landline, so that you receive calls to your virtual 020 number alongside calls to your existing landline phone number. If you want to know which calls are to your London number before you speak to the person calling you, we highly recommend our call whisper feature. To read about this and our other fantastic added value features, such as call recording and call queuing, click on the red box below.
Virtual London numbers are ideal if you are a company that wants to do business in London, but doesn't want to have premises inside the M25. This may be because offices are too expensive in London, because it is too expensive to live there, because your staff find it difficult to get into central London for work, because your clients find it difficult to get there, or some other reason. If this is the case, but you still want to attract clients in London, then you may find a cheaper alternative is to be based outside of London, but to still have a virtual London phone number, giving you the appearance and prestige of being a London company without the London costs.

All 020 numbers are London numbers. However, they are often referred to as 0203, 0207 and 0208 numbers for historical reasons. In the 1990s, inner London was 071 and outer London was 081. The addition of a 1 in 1995 changed this to 0171 and 0181. These changed to 0207 and 0208 in 2000, and 0203 was introduced in 2004 as an across London number. Since then, the inner/outer logic has not been applied, and so now the 4th digit no longer is a signal of where in London you are – the only thing that matters is that the number starts 020!
